Novel Coronavirus

Symptoms

The most common symptoms of coronavirus?are recent onset of:

  • New continuous cough and/or
  • High temperature
  • Loss of taste and/or smell

In line with Government?advice, if?you have any or all?of these symptoms, as a precautionary measure?you will need to?self isolate. Please refer to the Public Health England?website for the most up to date information.?

All University students, staff and contractors are expected to adhere to the following:

  1. READ: The self isolation process for students
  2. READ: The self isolation process for staff?
  3. If you develop symptoms of COVID-19?do not come onto campus.?
  4. You?must?self-isolate and notify the University by email immediately at?covidreport@chi.ac.uk.
  5. If you are a member of staff, notify your manager and contact the HR Manager for your area.
  6. The University will be able to inform you how to obtain a test.
  7. Whilst you are waiting for the results of the test, anyone else in your house should also self-isolate.
  8. Download the NHS Covid-19 app to ensure effective contact tracing.
  9. Please ensure you share your current term-time address with the University.

If you think you have symptoms, or?been in contact with somebody with symptoms, please download and read the Self Isolation Procedure for Students?chart.?

  1. If you develop symptoms of COVID-19?do not come onto campus.?

Active cases

The University of Chichester remains open, and we continue to offer a blended learning experience whilst adhering to the latest government and DfE guidance.?Any students or staff that display symptoms are being directed to get themselves tested for Covid-19. There are test sites located adjacent to both our Chichester and Bognor Regis campuses. We continue to ask everyone within the University to respect our local community and keep each other as safe as possible.?

As of 18?November, there were 17?active cases within our staff and student body. Please note that some of our active cases relate to students living in University managed accommodation, whilst others are for students who travel in from home or living in private rented accommodation.

Of these 17?active cases, 16?cases were students, and 1?was?staff. This is out of a population of c.5,550 students and 1000 staff.
